ANGELIKI ANTONIOU

 

Born in Athens. She studied Architecture, in which she holds a degree in Greece and film direction at the DFFB (German Film and Television Academy in Berlin).

She works as scriptwriter and director in Greece and in Germany. In 2006 she taught film direction at the Film School of University in Thessaloniki. She lives in Athens and in Berlin.

She has directed feature films, short films and documentaries. Her films have been distributed in several European countries and have been awarded in numerous international festivals. Her last film �Eduart� participated in more than 40 film festivals and received 18 awards (Greece, France, USA and England) and as well excellent revues. Eduart was Greece's submission for an Oscar Nomination for Best Foreign Film 2008.

 


Nic Balthazar

 

Nic Balthazar was born in Ghent, Belgium (1964). After graduating (he has several college degrees and speaks seven languages), he started to work for Radio and Television, where he became a popular face on tv, presenting several shows.

He is also a writer, freelance journalist, columnist, tv and theater director. In 2007, he directed his first feature film, Ben X, based on his book. Ben X won several international awards and was sold to more than 40 countries. Ben X was also Belgium�s entry for the Academy Awards 2007.

Nic Balthazar has been an ecological activist ever since he presented �Ideefix�, the first ecological game show on European television (in 1987!). In 2008 he produced wrote and directed the short �The Big Ask�, a cautionary clip about global warming. The follow-up, called �The Big Ask Again, Dance for the Climate�, in which no less than 12.000 people danced in a mass choreography to the music of U2, was translated in 30 languages, in the international campaign leading up to the Copenhagen Summit.

The global dance �cinemanifestation� on www.dancefortheclimate.org has already gathered more than 24.000 dancers from different parts of the globe. Meanwhile he is preparing a documentary about climate change and the dangers of worldwide meat-overconsumption, while preparing his next fiction film �Team Mario�, based upon the story of the first man to ever make use of the euthanasia law in Belgium, the second country in the world to adopt such a legislation.


GEORGE OVASHVILI

 

Director, producer and screenwriter. In 1996 he completed his studies at the Institute of Film and Theatre in Tbilisi, Georgia.

In 2006 he graduated from the Film Academy in New York at Universal Studios in Hollywood. He has directed several short films, fiction films and documentaries.

His film �The other bank� participated in many festivals worldwide and won numerous awards (Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, etc.). He has participated several times as a jury member in several International Film Festivals.

 


  COMPETITION MEDIUM LENGTH FILMS juries

 

DIMITRIS INDARES

Born in Patras in April, 1964. He studied political science and international relations at Panteios University in Athens and film directing at the Stavrakou School. Upon completing his studies in 1987 he worked as assistant director in the films of Pantelis Voulgaris, Nikos Perakis, Frida Liappa, Diagoras Chronopoulos and as a production manager for the film �Lefteris Dimakopoulos� by Choursoglou Pericles.

From 1987 until today, he has directed several feature films and documentaries.

His film �Totally Married� won the Best Script Award at the 44th International Thessaloniki Film Festival, the Platinum Award for Best Comedy at Houston International Film Festival, the Best Music Award at Valencia Film Festival and the Best Supporting Actor Award by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture Cinema Awards in 2003.

He has also directed video clips and more than 120 commercials. He is now preparing his next feature film �Mam�.

 


CHRISTOS ZOURAS

 Christos Zouras is the Secretary General and acts as the director of Organization Earth, a newly formed Greek NGO whose mission is the promotion of collective intelligence through education.

He is also the Vice President of Arcturos environmental NGO which deals with the protection of biodiversity and especially with large carnivores. He is the President of the Quality of Life Council for the Hellenic Society for the Protection of the Environment and the Cultural Heritage (NGO).

He has also experience in Public Private Partnerships working with Ernst & Young consultancy firm. He is a member of the IENE Committee (Infra Eco Network Europe).

For the period 2008-9, he was appointed as a Permanent Member of the National Hellenic Council of Country Planning & Sustainable Development. He holds a masters degree in public administration & NGO governance from Bocconi University - Milan Italy.

ANASTASSIA ZEPPOY

 

Anastassia Zeppou was born and raised in Athens, Greece.

She graduated from the Theology Department of the Religious Studies School of the University of Athens. She has taken postgraduate courses studying Comparative Religious Studies, Philosophy and Religion Psychology and Christian Anthropology.

She has attended and participated in seminars for Literature Theory, Poetry, History of Philosophy and Aesthetics. She lives at present in Rhodes, Greece and works as an educator at the local Direction of Secondary Education.

Her book presentations, essays, portraitures, texts and poems have been publicized in theological and literary journals in Athens and Rhodes. She is an active member of the Film Club of Rhodes �Theassis�

 


HASSE WESTER

Hasse was born in Harnosand 1957 in the north of Sweden. He has been studying behavioural science at the University of Stockholm and Film production at Skurups folkhogskola in Sweden. Hasse has been working with film and TV-production since 1992.

He has been working as an editor for the National Swedish Television for more than 10 years, and he has filmed and produced reportage and documentaries for Television. His film The Golden Beach has been screened at several international film festivals in Europe, Kanada and India, and it got first prize at The Rodos International Film & Visual Arts Festival in 2009.

 

 


MARCO GAUDENZI

Was born in Pesaro in 1949.  

He graduated in architecture from the University of Rome in 1976, with a thesis entitled:A residential complex for the elderly in Pesaro�. Since 1976, he has created some 150 design projects for all areas of civil and industrial building, including the building of an experimental theatre in Pontedera.

Since 1987, he has been the creator and art director of Tonelli, bringing in designers such as Isao Hosoe, De Pas, D�Urbino, Lomazzi and Luigi Serafini. In the design field, he works on occasional, non-specific projects that have seen him collaborate with Tonelli in the furniture industry, MFFM in the jewellery sector, and Benelli for hunting rifles.

As part of an overall research project into mobility, which he carried out in conjunction with Isao Hosoe, he created �Fluida�, a �bag� bicycle.
